Thanks for the wonderful question, Rocco!

Yes, from what I've observed when you're developing a film for release that deals with very heavy subject that did occur, like Columbine or other such painful part of national history, definitely release the film later. Yes, Columbine was fast, but also I'm really talking about events like the Iran Hostages or at present the films about the Bush Administration. As an example, I was just reviewing the release for Oliver Stone's "W": brilliant!

He could have easily released a Bush film during the administration that would have had quite an effect on the second term. Instead, he's releasing this Oct. 17th in the US. Something worth seeing in terms of effect on the critics, viewers and international relations. I can already tell it's going to sell well in France. I'll definitely be writing about political films: either about near finished terms or old and dead politicos...and how much biopics are dependant on the leader's term effects, distance of time and screenwriters/directors perspective.

And no, Rocco, not very happy having my picture taken during that time...Navy SEALs and all those those under their tutelage are always very conscious of keeping photos to minimum--no photos and no tattoos after the murder of one of their own on a hijacked TWA 847.

Hi, Cork --
Very interesting installment. Do you think the same for other events, that it's better to do scripts on real life events after the event or during, per this war and war movie theory?

Also, you don't look very happy in that by the way. Anything interesting?

Sincerely,
RT
